Petar Michin, one of the best players of our team in the 2024/2025 championship, shared his impressions of the season:
-"To be honest, it was an ordinary season for us. We would like to do better. In general, it was not a failed season. Everyone understands: the management, the coaching staff, the staff and ourselves that we need to work together to make the next season better.
We could have been higher. We understand that the middle of the table is not an achievement. The game against Polissia, for example, showed that they are no better than us. We lost because of minor details. Again, I think Karpaty, Polissya and Kryvbas are no better than us.
There was no stability in the game. We played 2-3 top matches and then failed. We lost a lot of points in matches where we shouldn't have lost them. For example, we took points from Dynamo and Shakhtar, and then lost to teams we shouldn't have lost to.
-"Not long ago, you were not always in our team. At the end of this season, you have 12 points (9 goals and 3 assists) according to the goal+pass system. What do you think has changed?
-I didn't play at the beginning of the season. There was another coach. When Mladen became the head coach, I started playing a lot. I played almost always. Mladen gave me self-confidence, freedom of action. He just believed in me. I played for the team and I'm glad I helped them win.
-Which role do you like more: goal scorer or assistant?
-There are always more emotions when you score. But when you make an assist, such as the one against LNZ, you also get pleasure. I want everyone to do this, to think about the team, about their partners, not about individual performance. It doesn't matter who scores and passes, the main thing is the team victory.
-How important is the microclimate in the team and what is it like at Zorya?
-It is very important. One of the most important things in football. If we communicate with each other normally, then there will be more dedication on the field, more fight for each other. You have to play for yourself, for the club, for the coaching staff, for the management. We are all doing the same thing. We need to respect the work of everyone at the club.
-For a long period of time we were in the fight for European Cups. What did we still lack?
-We lacked stability, first of all. Everything in the team was good, we trained, we tried. But in the game against Veres, for example, the 10th minute and already 0:2. It's hard to get back into the game. The same thing happened in the match against Kolos. We lost points in these matches.
Physically and in the atmosphere, everything was fine, but sometimes we didn't get into the game, and then it was too late. This does not mean that we did not want to, it just happened. We will fix it somehow. The coaching staff will help us with this.
-You have good indicators, as we have already discussed. Can this help you get a call-up to the Serbian national team?
-In my opinion, at the moment, it is difficult to get into the national team. My position is played by players from the best championships and in the best clubs in Europe. There are a lot of good players in Serbia now. In order to get into the national team, you have to play even better and a level higher.
-Are you satisfied with your personal season?
-Yes, I'm satisfied with my personal season. I set a goal before the start of the championship - to score 10 goals and give 5 assists. It was not enough. But in general, I am satisfied with my personal achievements. I hope that the next season will be better for me and the team as a whole.
-How are you spending your vacation?
-I'm at home almost all the time. Maybe I'll still have time to go to the sea. And, of course, I'm also preparing for the next training camp.
