Until the summer of 2014, Zorya Luhansk played its home matches in the Ukrainian Championship and the Ukrainian Cup in Luhansk at the Avangard Stadium.
The date of commissioning of the Avangard stadium is March 1951.
Since then, the stadium, which was then still named after Kliment Voroshilov, has changed not only its capacity, but also its appearance. In 1957, the stadium's capacity was 7,447 seats, then in 1967 the capacity increased to 40,000 seats.
In 1962, the city's main sports arena was renamed, and received its current name - "Avangard".
In 1986, another reconstruction of the stadium took place, after which the capacity of "Avangard" decreased, but slightly - to 32,000 seats.
In 2003, a major reconstruction of the stadium was carried out, after which the capacity of "Avangard" still stands at 22,288 seats.
In 2011, the football field was completely replaced, the drainage system was changed, heating was laid, and a modern field irrigation system was installed. In December 2011, a new modern lighting system was installed (2,000 lux). Thus, now the field and lighting of Avangard meet all the requirements and standards of the Ukrainian Football Federation and the Premier League.
