I’d like to say that we’re becoming more consistent, but every new game is a new story.
We always have to be 100 percent ready. Set pieces play a decisive role. The opponent didn’t create much from open play, but they capitalized on their set piece. Just like we did.
-The decisive set piece was earned and executed by the players who came on as substitutes: Gorbach and Yurchenko.
-We always want to see maximum contribution from the players who come off the bench. Kudos to the guys who came off the bench today. There was more aggression and movement.
-Was there ever a time in your career when things were as unclear as they are today?
-Once, we were playing the last match of the first half of the season in the Bundesliga. The next day was our vacation. Everyone already had their tickets. We decided we absolutely had to play. Usually, the match starts there at 3:30 p.m., but we started around 7:30 p.m. Unfortunately, we lost that time, but I’ve had that kind of experience.
-Anderson Jordan is on the bench today.
-He’s exhausted. You could say that. Jordan is the kind of player who plays every match from start to finish. It’s tough mentally and psychologically. Back in the day, even Ronaldo and Messi were on the bench. There’s nothing wrong with that. We talked it over with him and decided to give him a rest.
